Portland Pumpkin Farm
September 1st through November 2nd from 9am. Note that the Bella Organic farm store is open all year from 9am to 6pm.
- A great corn maze, of contrasting style to the one next door at The Pumpkin Patch, with an optional “who dunnit?” element. Map available.
- A great, fun cow train – without the wait. Plus hayrides and a free little hay maze for the kids. Plus food, drink and produce for sale.
- White pumpkins!
[from 2011 - things may have changed!]
- All purchases must be made in tokens which are exchanged 1-to-1 for dollars at a particular stand. I understand why they do it, but it’s annoying as, in an effort not to over-purchase, you have to keep coming back.
- Slightly disingenuous signs tell of “free maze entrance with purchase”. The purchase is, however, an equivalent value in pumpkins, which cost twice as much as they do next door.
In the area
It’s right next door to The Pumpkin Patch, and different enough that it’s worth going to both and making an afternoon of it on the island.
